WMH Concussion Reporting Form

Concussion Management in World Masters Hockey

At World Masters Hockey (WMH), player safety is our top priority. We are pleased to introduce a new, best-practice approach to concussion management for all WMH events. This approach is based on the latest international research and guidelines to ensure the health and wellbeing of all participants.

Key features of the concussion management protocol include:

  • Concussion Reporting Form: This form must be completed for any suspected concussion. (download below)
  • Concussion Management Workflow: Outlining the steps to follow in case of a suspected concussion.

Our approach follows the latest recommendations from the 6th International Conference on Concussion in Sport held in Amsterdam in 2022. This includes tools such as the Concussion Recognition Tool-6 (CRT6), the Sport Concussion Assessment Tool-6 (SCAT6), and the new Sport Concussion Office Assessment Tool-6 (SCOAT6).

Important Note: If in doubt, sit it out. On-site medical staff and the Tournament Director (TD) will have the responsibility of managing any suspected concussions at the World Cups in South Africa and Auckland.

We encourage all participants, umpires, and medical staff to review these materials.
