It is with great sadness that WMH forward news received yesterday that Wim died peacefully after a long campaign against cancer. Wim was a key WGMA member for over 20 years and played a huge part in the organisation’s success and development. He was WGMA President for the last 6 years and worked alongside IMHA officials in setting up World Masters Hockey. His dedication and immense contribution to Masters & Grand Masters Hockey cannot be adequately described in words, but all Masters Hockey players owe a debt of gratitude for his commitment to the development of our sport.
On behalf of all WMH members, the WMH Executive Board express their sorrow at the passing of this kind and generous man and extend our condolences to his family and all his friends.
I knew Wim for many years and he did so much for Masters Hockey.
He was a great example of working to promote the sport at Masters level.
He will be greatly missed and I would like to send my condolences to his family
