The WMH, in conjunction with the Host Nation Organising Committee from USA Field Hockey, unfortunately had to cancel the WMH Indoor World Cup scheduled for February 2022 in Virginia Beach.
The uncertainties relating to the highly transmissible Omicron variant, the result of consultations with participating teams and the FIH’s decision to cancel the FIH Indoor World Cup in Belgium helped confirm that it was not possible to run this tournament in a safe and feasible way. The safety of all participants is always the primary consideration and if it cannot be guaranteed, cancellation is the only sensible outcome.
