FIH updated its Tournament Regulations in May 2026 with immediate effect, to confirm that players are not permitted to wear jewellery or watches during matches. WMH has adopted FIH’s position for our Events from the 2026 WMH Outdoor World Cups.

6.9 All players must:
c) not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous. All items of jewellery (watches, necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, etc.) are forbidden and must be removed.
Permanent jewellery or any jewellery that cannot be easily removed must be adequately covered or taped.
WMH Exceptions
- Jewellery that cannot be removed for any reason (including cultural significance) should be appropriately covered.
- Watches used to monitor medical conditions can also be worn if:
1. Covered; and
2. A medical certificate is provided to the TD with a completed WMH Medical Declaration Form, confirming BOTH the medical condition and the requirement for the watch to be worn to monitor that medical condition.
