World Masters Hockey (WMH) is pleased to announce the introduction of the one-off Glenn
Paton Invitational Shield, to be awarded to the winning Over-80 Men’s team at the 2025 WMH
European Championships in Ludwigsburg (21–30 August). This special, non-recurring award
will feature four pioneering squads, from England, Germany, the Netherlands and Southern
Cross, each vying for the prestigious Shield
“Our O80 men’s division continues to inspire,” said Glenn. “By presenting this unique Invitational
Shield in Ludwigsburg, we honour decades of dedication and highlight the spirit of Masters
hockey, knowing this Shield will stand alone in our history.”
This one-time Invitational Shield underscores WMH’s commitment to celebrating milestone
achievements across all age divisions. Glenn Paton will be on-site in Ludwigsburg to present
the Shield to the champions, marking a singular tribute to our Over-80 cohort.
WMH extends best wishes to all 50 teams competing across Ludwigsburg and looks forward to a festival of top-class Masters hockey.
